SMS Terms
How texts sent through Anders work, and the rules clinics follow when they text.
Last updated October 2, 2026
Texts come from your clinic, only with your agreement. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Overview and scope
Digital Macaroni LLC, doing business as Hey Anders (“Anders,” “we,” “us”), provides Anders, software that clinics use to run bookings, client records and payments. A clinic can use Anders to send and receive text messages (SMS and MMS) with its own clients about their appointments, forms and visits. Each clinic is the sender of its messages, registers its own texting program with mobile carriers, and is identified by name in every message.
Anders is in development. These terms describe how texting works when a clinic uses Anders.
Clinics: section 2 applies to every clinic that enables texting in Anders. People who receive texts: sections 3 to 10 explain consent, frequency, costs, opting out, help and privacy. Each clinic also publishes its own texting policy and privacy policy, linked from its booking page and forms.
Rules for clinics that text
All texting through Anders is application-to-person (A2P) messaging. A clinic must follow applicable communications and privacy laws, mobile carrier requirements, the acceptable use and messaging policies of our communications providers, and these terms. The clinic is responsible for messages sent by its staff, by anyone using its account, and by Anders acting under the clinic’s rules.
Consent, identification and opt-out.
- Obtain clear consent from each client before the first message. Consent must identify the clinic and cover the kind of messages it will send. Anders records each consent by purpose, with its wording, time and source.
- Collect texting consent separately from consent to treatment. It must be optional, never pre-checked, and never a condition of treatment or purchase.
- Send promotional or marketing messages only to clients who separately agreed to receive them.
- Keep consent records available, and provide them promptly if we, a carrier, a provider or a regulator asks.
- Identify the clinic in every message. Anders sends messages in the form “Clinic name: message. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Honor STOP and other opt-out requests. Anders blocks further messages to that number automatically, including any already queued, and sends one confirmation.
- Do not use purchased, rented, scraped or shared contact lists, or send unsolicited messages.
Health information. Texts are not encrypted. By default Anders sends only the clinic’s name, appointment date and time, address and a link, and never names a treatment, provider or health condition. Health details are shown only behind a secure page. Clinics must not text diagnoses, photos, detailed treatment information or medical history.
Quiet hours and frequency. Automated messages follow the clinic’s quiet hours, by default 9 AM to 8 PM in the client’s local time, and its limits on reminders and follow-ups. Clinics may narrow these limits but not widen them beyond what Anders allows.
Prohibited content and businesses. Clinics may not use Anders messaging for, and Anders is not offered to businesses engaged in:
- Promoting or selling prescription medication, or any controlled or restricted product, including cannabis, CBD, kratom, vape products and e-cigarettes.
- High-risk financial services, debt collection or relief, third-party lead generation, or get-rich-quick, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes.
- Gambling, sweepstakes or raffles; sexual or adult content; hate speech; alcohol, firearms or tobacco.
- Fraud, phishing or impersonation, including requests for passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers or similar sensitive information.
- Anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or harmful, including malware and malicious links.
Prohibited sending practices. Do not spread traffic across numbers to evade filtering, alter wording or sender information to avoid detection, use public URL shorteners or look-alike links, or message anyone beyond the scope or frequency they agreed to.
Enforcement. We may filter or block messages and suspend texting when traffic violates or appears likely to violate these rules, the law or provider and carrier requirements. We give notice and a chance to correct an issue when practicable, but may act immediately to prevent harm or meet a provider or carrier requirement. Carrier, provider and regulatory penalties caused by a clinic’s traffic are the clinic’s responsibility. Current law, carrier rules and provider policies control even where a use is not named above.
How you agree to texts
You agree to receive texts from a clinic in one of these ways:
- Ticking the optional, unchecked box for texts when you book online or complete the clinic’s intake form.
- Saying yes when the clinic, or Anders answering the clinic’s phone, asks during a call you made whether you would like information or confirmations sent by text.
- Asking clinic staff to text you, who record your agreement in Anders.
Agreeing is optional and is never a condition of treatment or purchase. You can withdraw at any time.
What you will receive
Texts relate to your appointments and visits with that clinic: booking confirmations, reminders, changes to an appointment, links to forms and payments, replies to your messages, and follow-ups such as a reminder to rebook. You receive promotional messages only if you separately agreed to them. Anders never places outbound calls.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies with your appointments and conversations with the clinic, usually a few messages per visit.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your plan. Neither Anders nor the clinic charges you for receiving texts.
Opting out (STOP)
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from that clinic’s number. You will receive one message confirming the opt-out and no further texts unless you opt in again. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT also work, and you can tell the clinic in any other reasonable way.
To start receiving texts again, reply START to the same number or ask the clinic.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact the clinic directly. You can also email us at hello@heyanders.com.
Mobile information and privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties. We use phone numbers only to deliver the messages you agreed to receive on behalf of the clinic, and share them only with the service providers that deliver those messages.
The clinic’s own privacy policy explains how it handles your information. Our Privacy Policy covers this website.
Carrier disclaimer
Messages travel over mobile networks operated by third parties. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and we cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and other major U.S. wireless providers, and support may change without notice.
